YEAR 5

Welcome back to school and I hope that we all had a wonderful summer break. Year 5 students have had a great start to 2019 academic year.

In English, the students have been learning about different types of nouns, finding the main idea of texts and how to write a narrative. In Mathematics, they have been focusing on naming numbers, place value, addition and subtraction. They have been solving worded problems based on the basic four operations- addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. In Integrated Studies, they are focusing on Relationships, Australian History, Drama and Art. During ICT classes, they are working on designing a Maths quiz using PowerPoint.

I would like to welcome a new student, Hussain Almosawy to our class. He has settled in quickly and made new friends. I wish my students good luck for this academic year. Together we will try our best!
